The Role of the Adaptive Network in Service-Oriented Architectures

For networkers to successfully deliver applications, it is not just a matter of adding more capacity or connectivity. A higher degree of automation, integration, and architectural design is required, with network-based intelligence as the foundation.

Taming Your Flock of NAS Devices

NAS devices are easily deployed but capacity limited, leading to an administratively unmanageable number of NAS devices as mount/share points multiply. This administrative quagmire is further complicated with a multi-vendor NAS data center where cross-vendor functionality is often lacking.

Cape Clear 6.5 Announces Enhanced ESB Platform for Larger Enterprises

Tuesday 15 November 2005

New toolset supports Eclipse, large enterprise-class environments.

Cape Clear Software has announced the latest version of its enterprise service bus (ESB), which features an Eclipse-based development environment, expanded security compliance through open standards, and support for new enterprise-class clustering and high-availability capabilities.

Cape Clear 6.5 delivers three key benefits for SOA deployments, the vendor says. First, the ESB now includes a unified SOA development toolset that reduces application development time and effort. Cape Clear 6.5 provides a single, integrated toolset within the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment, including enhanced BPEL, XML/WSDL and Java development tools. This toolset supports source code control system integration, single-click
deploy-and-test capabilities, and automatic detection and configuration of application server environments.

Second, the new ESB offers "guaranteed" comprehensive and interoperable security across services. Cape Clear 6.5 includes a new security policy framework for WS-Security and the WS-I basic security profile.

Third, the ESB is tuned to offer enhanced reliability and scalability for enterprise-wide deployments. Cape Clear 6.5 provides "one-click" clustering capability, enabling load-balancing and high-availability for stateful BPEL processes.

"

"Supporting enterprise-wide mission critical applications requires a proven, 100% standards-based, middleware agnostic approach" said Annrai O'Toole, CEO of Cape Clear Software. "With Cape Clear 6.5, we have changed the rules of the game yet again - we're proving that implementing a SOA can be fast and simple, yet still provide the enterprise-level qualities of service that our global customers require."

"

Cape Clear 6.5 will be generally available on December 6th, 2005, the vendor said.
