BEA WebLogic Platform to Support Toyota's Major IT Initiatives; Multi-Year Agreement Includes Product Training and Support

SAN JOSE, Calif.-March 1, 2004- BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS), the world's leading application infrastructure software company, today announced that Toyota Financial Services, the finance and insurance brand for Toyota in the United States, has signed a multi-year enterprise license agreement that makes BEA WebLogic Platform™ 8.1 the standard application platform suite for Toyota Financial Services.

Toyota Financial Services is planning several major IT initiatives to support its customers, business partners, and employees. BEA WebLogic Platform will be the foundation on which Toyota builds a unified service oriented architecture (SOA). Toyota plans to leverage BEA WebLogic Workshop™, an integrated development environment, to build service-oriented Web applications, Web services, and portal applications. Additionally, BEA Services will provide product training and support.
