Active Endpoints Ships Multi-Site BPMS

Tuesday 05 May 2009

Active Endpoints, Inc. ( www.activevos.com ) ships ActiveVOSTM 6.2, a new release of its business process management suite (BPMS) featuring ActiveVOS MultiSite. ActiveVOS 6.2 Is the Only BPMS to Offer Seamless Replication and Scaling of Business Processes Across Multiple Data Centers

Waltham, MA, May 5, 2009 – Active Endpoints, Inc. ( www.activevos.com ) today shipped ActiveVOS 6.2, a new release of its business process management suite (BPMS) featuring ActiveVOS MultiSite. ActiveVOS MultiSite protects crucial, long-running business processes from interruption or termination due to a major hardware or site failure. ActiveVOS MultiSite also allows users to flexibly scale their BPM environments, resulting in a more efficient use of computing resources.

"

“ActiveVOS 6.2 delivers true scalability and fault tolerance for BPM users,” said Mark Taber, CEO, Active Endpoints. “As the first BPMS with the capability to operate across geographically distributed sites, ActiveVOS demonstrates Active Endpoints’ technological leadership by combining ease-of-use with advanced capabilities in a single, affordable, standards-based product.”

"

ActiveVOS MultiSite builds on ActiveVOS’s previously-available clustering capabilities and extends those capabilities to multiple ActiveVOS clusters running across a distributed network of sites. Using Master-Master database replication and an efficient communications protocol, an ActiveVOS MultiSite system enables organizations to run critical applications in geographically
distributed data centers, protecting the organization from downtime caused by complete failure at any data center.

"

“As business process management (BPM) becomes an increasingly critical part of companies’ core operations, the need to ensure uninterrupted service grows, “said Simon Holloway, practice leader, process management & RFID, Bloor Research. “Solutions that assure end users that long-running and high priority work will never be lost make it easier for companies to adopt modern BPMS technologies.”

"

ActiveVOS allows developers, business analysts, operations staff and managers to model, develop, test, deploy, and manage a new generation of 100% standards-based BPM applications affordably and quickly. In contrast to the costly, stitched-together-through-acquisition approaches of other vendors, ActiveVOS is complete. ActiveVOS is easy to learn and can be
rapidly deployed.

ActiveVOS 6.2 is available today at www.activevos.com/trial . Users are encouraged to download a free, 30-day, fully-supported trial of ActiveVOS 6.2. During the trial, users can take advantage of superior, email-based support and the wealth of training, education and samples available on Active Endpoints’ websites. Users will find the Education Center, the In-depth section and
podcasts from the company’s blog especially useful. A “What’s New in ActiveVOS 6.2” page on the company’s website collects into a single place much of the information specific to ActiveVOS MultiSite and is a convenient place to begin exploring ActiveVOS 6.2

Pricing, availability and upgrades
ActiveVOS is available as a perpetual license for use in either an internal development environment or a deployment environment. In an internal development environment, ActiveVOS is $5,000 per CPU socket. In a deployment environment, ActiveVOS is $12,000 per CPU socket when the deployment environment licenses are ordered with a first-time purchase
of internal development environment licenses. See “How to Buy” ActiveVOS for more information and definitions of the two possible environments. Subsequent ActiveVOS deployment purchases are $25,000 per CPU socket. A "CPU socket" is a physical processor on a system. It does not count the number of CPUs in that socket. Annual support and maintenance is 20% of total license fees. ActiveVOS 6.2 licenses include the new MultiSite capability as part of the base license. Current ActiveVOS customers who are current on maintenance will receive ActiveVOS 6.2 at no additional charge.
