Lagan and Hyfinity Sign Global OEM Contract

Wednesday 04 October 2006

Agreement to roll out integration adapters between back and front office applications will speed Government IT implementations by up to 60%.

Lagan, a provider of CRM and Enterprise Case Management solutions to Government, and Hyfinity today announced the signing of a global OEM contract in April 2006. The new agreement will see Hyfinity’s MVC web application development technology used by Lagan to build new ‘integration adapter’ modules to connect front-office and back-office applications together seamlessly. This agreement enables these complex integration solutions, involving in-depth, two-way inter-operability, to be brought to market earlier to enable Public Sector organisations such as Local Authorities to improve citizen-centric services and efficiency in their Revenues, Benefits and Housing service areas - key components in the Transformational Government Strategy.

Lagan will use MVC to develop integration adapters for Local Government and Wider Public Sector organisations and the first two deliverables of this programme will be adapters for both Revenues and Benefits service areas due for release later this year. Eliminating the need for extensive programming, Lagan will dramatically cut new system build times by up to 60%, enabling strategic adapter solutions to be delivered earlier and implemented faster. It also means that future changes to Government legislation, for example, can be implemented quicker by the Government organisation. This work leverages the work done by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) which has been working to ‘open up’ back-office applications in order to help local authorities radically change business processes to deliver greater efficiencies and improve customer service.

"

Mike Cattermole, Sales Manager at Hyfinity, comments, “It’s a win – win situation all round. Lagan will be able to produce new back-office integration adapter modules more quickly - improving its competitive advantage - while we get a new channel to market and a global reach. The customers, in turn, will be able to get new, highly functional integration adapter modules faster.”

David Moody, CTO of Lagan, adds, “We have been very impressed with Hyfinity’s MVC technology. It has already shown itself to be a hugely productive development environment which produces industrial strength XML applications that are capable of modification and extension in a highly effective manner. Hyfinity is well positioned to help us improve how our Government customers communicate with their customers, the public and businesses, and also how they improve the linking up of their front and back office operations to drive efficiency savings.”

Cattermole concludes, “It’s a great opportunity for both companies to work together using the very latest native XML and SOA technology and to capitalise on each other’s core strengths. Hyfinity’s position of being at the forefront of rapid composite web application assembly is confirmed through this contract with Lagan. In turn, Lagan’s technology leadership position, particularly in the area of providing sophisticated integration adapters to Government, will be maintained.”
