Radovan Janecek is vice president of engineering for Systinet. Prior to joining Systinet in 2000, Radovan Janecek worked for the IBM T.J. Watson Research Institute, conducting research and development on software-based speech processing engines, and multi-modal control of software applications. He also worked for Borland/Inprise as a CORBA and Java consultant. Prior to that, Radovan was a Ph.D candidate and served on the faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague, where he studied as a member of the CORBA and Distributed Systems Research Group. Radovan holds a Masters degree in Mathematics and Informatics from Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic.

Formal Definitions

I haven't seen any formal definition of SOA and I don't think there is any. As there is no (afaik) formal definition of the term 'enterprise architecture'.
